Rick Bain
Development Consultant, Arban Associates
 
Rick Bain is currently the Director of Domestic and International Sales for ISA, a technology-based organization in RTP. He previously served as the Director of the Building Reuse and Restoration Program at the NC Rural Center where he managed a $13.5 million portfolio of grant investments for the adaptive reuse of vacant buildings and brownfields. Rick also serves on the Board of Directors of the Eco-Industrial Council, a North American based development group which focuses on the development of contaminated properties and Eco-Parks. In addition, he provides technical assistance through the Revitalization Institute, an international organization focused on the reuse and restoration economy. Prior to moving to North Carolina, he was involved with the Pennsylvania Land Recycling Program.
 
 
Michael Gromacki
Vice President, Cook Composites & Polymers
 
Michael Gromacki is the Vice President, Engineering and Loss Control for Cook Composites and Polymers (CCP). Kansas City-based CCP manufactures resins for composites and coatings applications and is part of the Resins Division of the Chemical Branch holdings of TOTAL, an international energy company based in France.  Mr. Gromacki is a Chemical Engineering graduate of the University of Wisconsin. His primary professional experience and activities are related to hazardous waste management and minimization, process safety management, environmental assessment and remediation, and sustainability through environmental, safety and quality management systems.
 
 
Jim Jubelirer (moderator)
Vice President, Harris Interactive
 
Jim Jubelirer is a Vice President and Senior Consultant in the Loyalty division of Harris Interactive, based in Chapel Hill. Harris is a full-service market research and consulting firm based in Princeton, NJ.  Jim is responsible for new business development and management of large-scale customer and employee satisfaction measurement programs.  His competencies include strategic planning; change management and organizational development. Jim is an active fundraiser and volunteer organizer with a variety of organizations.
 

Mark Lennon
President, Institution Recycling Network
 
Mark Lennon is a founder and principal of the Institution Recycling Network, a cooperative organization that helps manage recycling programs and fsurplus property for reuse, distributing millions of pounds of furnishings and supplies for disaster relief and economic development in the U.S. and abroad. Before founding IRN, Mark was recycling coordinator for the State of New Hampshire where he developed the State’s first statewide plan to achieve a legislated 40% recycling target. In earlier work, he was a consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other public and private clients in solid and hazardous waste and energy issues. Mark graduated from Dartmouth College and has a Master’s degree in Ecosystems Research from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
