Speed Networking is designed as an efficient way for local sustainable entrepreneurs to meet each other and form valuable business connections. Participants are divided into cohorts covering areas such as green building, renewable energy and sustainable consumer products. Over the course of sixty minutes, participants meet briefly with each of the other participants in their cohort. After the end of each brief meeting, participants quickly alternate their seating arrangements to pair up with their next networking opportunity. This process will continue until all participants in a cohort have interacted with each other. In just a few minutes, participants will share business cards, history and offer new contacts valuable information about their business. Each cohort will include one or more “star” networkers, successful sustainable entrepreneurs and business development experts who are leaders in their field. After the structured speed networking event is over, participants are encouraged to continue networking during an open reception and to follow-up with their new contacts.

About BASE...
The UNC Business Accelerator for Sustainable Entrepreneurship is a program of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.  BASE supports early-stage businesses that address the triple bottom line: financial profitability, social equity and environmental sustainability. Launched in the spring of 2008, BASE connects sustainable entrepreneurs to a range of business development resources with the goal of accelerating their growth and impact.   For more information go to: www.cse.unc.edu/base.
